Manchester - Day 3 (Old Trafford + Shopping!~)

Day 3 in Manchester is the most tiring one. This is because we were trying to cover the places that we were supposed to go on Day 2. We started off early in the morning by boarding the train to the city of Manchester. We were on the National Rail and believe me, the train was moving so slowly! I suggest that if any of you are going to ride on the same train in the future, bring along some books or board games so that you’ll not die of boredom! As for me, my mp3 saved me.. Huhu^^

After arriving at Manchester Piccadilly station, we took a tram via Metrolink to Old Trafford! Yup peeps~ I’m going to the Old Trafford Stadium!!! Woohooo!!~ Felt so lucky. I’ve finally arrived at Manchester United’s stadium! To all MU fans out there, don’t be jealous okay? LOL!!! We were so lucky because that day itself, MU had a match against Villareal and because of that, we could see many other tourists who came for the match. We then went inside the store and shopped for souvenirs.

We're here at Old Trafford Stadium!!

This is United Cafe! Sometimes players do hangout here~

The menu at United Cafe...

This whole place is like Manchester United's mini town.. Hee!

Souvenirs from Old Trafford!

After leaving Old Trafford, we headed to the city centre and stopped at Manchester’s Hard Rock Café. It was the biggest Hard Rock Café in the UK. We didn’t stay for food of course coz we were fasting. So, we only went to the souvenir shop to buy some things for ourselves. We didn’t buy a lot though coz they were expensive. I got myself a hoodie and a keychain.

Lost?~ ^^

The curvy streets in Manchester.. Nice!

We went straight to Arnsdale after that. It was a great place for shopaholics! There were so many shops in there that we didn’t even know where to start! We entered Jane Norman to look at some clothes. I was really attracted to this pink handbag and it was the last one..but it has got a spot on it (no wonder it’s the only one left..). So, I didn’t buy it. Our next stop was Disney Store and it was on sale! Knowing that, I immediately grabbed some of the things there for both of my sisters. It was really worth it!

High School Musical folder for Khalisyah, Narnia folder and Ratatouille stationery set for Khalilah. Khalisyah, don't be jealous.. I've bought you lotsa High School Musical and Hannah Montana's stuffs, aite?

We then continued to enter more shops. We went into Madhouse which was also on sale that time and then we entered Next. Didn’t buy anything from those two shops. After that, we entered New Look. I was personally looking for fur-collared jackets (just like Taeyang’s.. Huhu^^) and there were tonnes of them in there! The price range were around GBP35 to GBP40 which was the standard price but none of the design caught my eyes. I then looked at some jeans and I actually found one that really suited me but again, I didn’t buy it! I was surprised myself, my buying power was just not there at that time.. Hee~^^.. We continued entering other shops after that until our feet hurt and we decided to go home. On the way home, we stopped at Debenhams coz Syaz wanted to buy a belt for her father.

The results of Day 3.. LOL!!!!

Show me the money!~ Hee~^^

We were so tired on the way back that all of us slept on the train at some point. We didn’t have to worry about missing the station because as I said, it was moving really slowly.. Hahaha… Abg Nik picked us up at Chorley station. That night, after buka puasa with Nasi Lemak, Fried Kangkung, Salted Eggs, Vege Pizza and Seri Muka as desserts, we straight away took our baths, arranged the things that we bought and went to sleep~

Buka puasa menu~

Seri Muka for dessert~ YUM!~

Manchester - Day 2 (A Day at Home~)

We planned on going around Manchester on our 2nd day there but the weather was not on our side. It was raining the whole day. All we did was stay at home. Since it was raining the whole day, we actually stayed indoor wearing our sweaters and socks! It was freezing cold! Luckily we didn’t have to put on our winter coats..Huhu..

Kak Ina and Abg Nik are had a whole set DVD of ‘Friends’ series. Since we were living in a hostel for the past 3 years, we didn’t have the chance to watch the final season of the series when it was aired. So, we spent the whole morning and afternoon watching the last season of ‘Friends’ until the final episode! LOL!! I cried the most when watching this season coz there were so many touching scenes when it nearly came to an end~ Tsk..tsk…

Me in the brown hoodie, holding the remote control~ Hee~

Besides being potato couches in front of the TV, we also joined Zara and Adam to play! It was great~ We had a really nice time running around the house, screaming and jumping until……… I actually had my FIRST KISS!!!! Zara was playing around my when she suddenly stole my first kiss! Aaaarrgghhh!~ NO!!!!!! My first kiss was with a 2-year-old girl! OMG!~ *Faint*…… Okay, stop! I’m just gonna stop talking about that….. Lalalalalalalaa~ T_T

When Arissa got back from school, I joined her watching Power Rangers Jungle Fury! I, being a loyal follower of Power Rangers (erk..Syhhhhhh~) was so excited to watch it. Especially when you have a buddy like Arissa to watch it together.. Heee~ I love Sky TV (similar to Astro in Malaysia). They have almost every channel in the world! I also watched Arissa playing some games on the games channel until it was time to break our fast.

For buka puasa that day, we had Fried Rice, Fried Chicken and ‘Pasembor’!!! Can you believe that??!! Having ‘Pasembor’ in UK! LOL!!! Kak Ina really is a good cook… I wish I can be like her.

Food~

Pasembor yg sgt sedap!~

After buka puasa, we went straight to our room, not knowing what to do. We were so bored that Syaz and I did one crazy thing. We were YM-ing each other when we were actually sitting side by side! *rotfl* I went on for about ½ hour when we finally stopped to watch ‘Sutera Maya’ but it was no fun that we actually went straight to bed after that.

Manchester - Day 1 (Arrival~)

We reached Kak Ina’s home after doing some food shopping a TESCO and we were jaw-dropped after seeing her house. It was so big and beautiful! Don’t even mention about the interior.. The house was like the houses you see in ‘Casa Impian’ after makeover.. better actually~ I fell in love with the house even before I stepped my foot in.

We got to know her three children, Nik Arissa Qistina, Nik Adam Mikail and Nik Zara Qistina. Lovely children… although they’re quite playful, noisy and whiney, but that doesn’t matter. They’re children anyway. Hehe.. We played with those three kids while Kak Ina and her two babysitters cook for buka puasa.

It’s time to break our fast and OH MY GOD, the dishes were….. I don’t know how to describe them… Delicious, yummy, awesome, splendid.. and most importantly, they’re a lot!! It was as if Kak Ina was trying to feed a batallion of army!!! LOL!! There were ‘Ikan Tiga Rasa’, Japanese Tofu and Eggs in Soya Sauce, Fried ‘Pak Choy’, ‘Daging Goreng Kunyit’ and Fried Eggs! Slurrpppp~ Abg Nik is so lucky to have a wife who’s really a good cook like Kak Ina! Huhu…. The food were so delicious that despite the amount, we actually ‘cleaned’ all the plates off! LOL!!

Look at that~

...and we finished them off! LOL!!

We were hanging out in our room when Abg Nik said that he was going to on the Wi-Fi! Can you believe that? Wi-Fi! This house actually has a Wi-Fi! Upon hearing that, our smiles actually reached our ears! Senyum sampai ke telinga! Hahaha~ Syaz and Nadhia brought their laptops and we took turns using them. I was so happy that I actually got to update myself on Kpop news even though I’m away from my lappy~ Hehe…

We stayed up late that night, bathing and arranging our stuffs. Kak Ina and Abg Nik actually asked us to help ourselves in the kitchen if we’re hungry because they’re tired and they’re going to sleep. Kak Ina is a dentist and Abg Nik is a specialist by the way. Whoa!~ Later that night, we went down to the kitchen and do a bit of Selongkar-ing for Food’ project. Hehehe… and to our surprise, there were tonnes of food! Maggi, nuts, crisps, chocolates, cereals, juices…They even have ‘mata kucing’! I helped myself with some nuts, crackers, chocolates and ‘mata kucing’. Syaz even cooked herself Maggi.. LOL!! We ate those food while watching ‘Sutera Maya’ before going to bed~

Manchester - En Route (Part 2 - 'Unforgettable' Train Ride)

We arrived at Manchester Piccadilly Station at around 4pm. From there we have to take another train (more like komuter in Malaysia) to Chorley. That’s where Kak Ina’s house is. We spent almost all day in trains actually..LOL~ When we arrived in Manchester Piccadilly, it was at peak hour and the station was full of people who just came back from work. Luckily, we had made reservations online, so we didn’t have to fight for seats on the train.

Manchester Piccadily Station~
3.58pm - That's when we arrived..

After boarding the train, we looked for our seats and to our surprise…… they were occupied!!! Syaz told those people that those seats actually belong to ours and she even showed them our tickets but those people just won’t budge from the seats. Apparently, it was a lady with her couple and her aunt & uncle.

She said that she will move from that seat but her aunt is an elderly so she should sit. We would have given that seat to her old aunt and uncle..Fine! They’re old people.. but why wouldn’t the lady and her couple who are definitely young and healthy move from those seats?! And then suddenly her aunt questioned us about our reservations because it seemed that there were no reservation cards on that seats! Aaarrgghhh~ We were so nice at the beginning wanting to give those two seats to the old people but after she said that, we were just boiling mad! Especially when we were so damn tired after the 2 train rides before. For goodness sake, we had our tickets which stated reservations for 4 seats in Coach B, seats number 58-61 which were the exact same f***** place that they were seating!!! Buta huruf ke ape?! Tak reti bace ke?

They thought that we were some kind of foreigners that they can made fool of??!! Hellllooooo!~ We’re not stupid, okay! We thought of continuing to argue but everybody else was looking, and we didn’t wanna start some sort of a commotion, so we finally gave in. We actually had to stand for that ½ hour journey and thanks to those 4 arrogant, inconsiderate and shameless people, I actually had to stand near the back door which was next to the toilet! Kalo wangi takpe jugak. The smell was horrible. Busuk giler beb! Luckily there were some hot guys coming through those doors, so bolehla cuci mata sket.. hehe (errr…..) LOL!!

And those 4 people, they were seating comfortably on those seats as if nothing had happened, even though Syaz and Zu Lee were standing right beside them. They were having this ‘intellectual’ kinda conversation, talking about some sort of research and article reports..yada yada yada… and the funny thing was, those 'kononnya' intellectual people were talking in sentences that were grammatically incorrect! Wrong sentence structures, wrong vocabularies, wrong usage of tenses… Berlagak konon! Grammar pon berterabur! Tak malu punye mat saleh! Kalo amek SPM, sah gagal!

After ½ hour of that hell train ride, we finally reached Chorley. We waited for Kak Ina to fetch us and when she arrived with Arissa, her daughter, we gave her the full updates of our journey there. Pity Kak Ina coz she had to listen to our stories. LOL!! Before we reached her home, Kak Ina stopped at TESCO to buy some food for our buka puasa meal~

Chorley~

Manchester - En Route (Part 1 - From Plymouth to Manchester)

We went to Plymouth by train. So, we depart from Marjon at around 9am by taxi to the train station. Since we booked all our journey tickets online, so it was free from hassle. We just have to go to the ticket counter to retrieve our tickets…. But….. we were shocked coz we were given all of our train tickets, including the exchange and return ticket that morning. So, we actually travelled with a bunch of train tickets and struggled to differentiate which ticket should we use at which time.. LOL!!

The tickets~

Plymouth Train Station~
Platform 8, that's where we took our first train...

We were so lucky that the trains here have power sources. So, to fill up the 3-hour-journey, we watched EHB (‘Exploration of Human Body’ hosted by Super Junior) on the laptop. The show was like so damn funny and we were trying so hard holding our breath and stomach to stop us from laughing! Most of the other passengers were sleeping by the way. But, what’s more funny was that a man who was sitting somewhere behind our seats actually stretched out his head to watch EHB on our laptop. LOL!!!

Watching EHB~

Tgh tgk EHB pon sempat snap photo lagi.. hehe~

Candid~
Didn't realise when Syaz took this picture..

Reflection~

At around 1.30pm we reached Birmingham New Street Station. We had to get off here to change train to go to Manchester. We took the time there to go to the toilet but we were surprised to find out that we had to pay 30p for the restroom. That was like so expensive coz in Plymouth everything’s free. Even most of the toilets in London are FOC! Cekik darah btol! Nak kencing pon kene bayar. Tak lame lagi nak dok kat kerusi tepi jalan pon kene bayar kot~ Aisy~

When we were on the train from Birmingham to Manchester, we tried to get some sleep coz we didn’t get much sleep the day before, but no matter how hard we tried, we just couldn’t sleep! Then, I tried to read the book that I brought along but still, I couldn’t concentrate. Wanna know the reason why? There was this old lady sitting beside us talking on her phone almost half of the journey! And the way she talked were as if she wanted the whole train to know what her conversation was about! Aaaargggghh!

After she had finished, we thought that we could finally get some sleep but it turned out that there was this guy behind us who was also talking on the phone! And again, everyone could here his voice! What’s with all these peeps? Couldn’t you be more considerate of the other passengers? Aisy~ So that was another 3-hour-journey to Manchester without getting any sleep.

Trying to read~

Accomodation in Manchester~

It's been ages since I last post something about my life here except for the MVs by DBSK & Wondergirls. I've not been feeling well since I came back from Manchester. Been having flu and cough. 'Souvenirs' from Manchester! LOL~ Neways, I'm fine now, so I'm gonna post about my holidays in Manchester...starting from the place where we stayed there. Here it is~

The blue car is Proton Wira by the way & those two cars have been our transport to and fro the train station~

Come on in!~

You'll see this mirror once you enter the house. It's in front of the stairs leading to the top floor...
A favourite spot for us, camwhores~ Hahaha...

That's the front door...

That's me btw, the one with the orange cushion who's hogging the remote control.. LOL!!

Nadhia's favourite corner while video calling...

Our favourite place beside the living room, the dining room!!
This is where we buka puasa and sahur everyday~

I'm dying to have a kitchen like this~ Aaarrgghh...

We'll be here almost every night...
Selongkar-ing the cabinets for food.. Hehehe...

So, how was it? Nice aite? This is like the best place we've ever stayed while on holidays..

Okay, WAIT.. Stop right there!

Nope, we didn't spend thousands of pounds to pay for this accomodation. In fact, we stayed there for free!!!

NO... don't even think about it, we didn't threaten the owner of this house to let us stay there for free.. We're nice peeps~ lmao..

The real thing is, this is Syaz's cousin's house! She and her family has been living here for quite sometimes.. Huhu~ They welcomed us to stay in their house for our holidays...

So, bunch of thanks to Kak Ina, Abg Nik, Arissa, Adam and Zara for making our stay at your home really nice and comfortable. You guys really have an awesome house! LOVE IT! Can't wait to go there again this December when Kak Ina delivers her fourth child...

Good Luck!!!!
